My personal statement in application to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, MD (Easter, April 4, 2010):

My current research interests are motivated by logical extensions of
of my previous research experiences (publications included in attached
resume) combined with my life experiences and career goals.

I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to study medicine, physics,
computer science, biomedical engineering, security / risk management,
business development, the financial markets and aviation with gifted and
dedicated professionals who have shared with me their
expertise, perspectives and motivations. I have also been
the sole IT strategist in five startups that have been acquired
by public or private companies in diverse areas including
healthcare (details in attached resume).

My career goal is to bring these experiences together
in my practice as a physician, and in so doing, maximize the
contribution that I make to healthcare and the human condition.

I can think of no better place in the world to conclude
my formal medical education and to pursue these
goals than at the National Institutes of Health.

MD to be completed in November, 2010.
